Automation equipment is built from many low-volume custom parts: brackets, plates, fixing blocks, manifolds, shafts and sleeves. Each machine may need only a handful of each part, which is exactly where CNC machining fits.
Typical automation parts
- Fixing blocks, brackets and mounting plates
- Pneumatic and hydraulic manifold and distributor blocks
- Shafts, sleeves, rollers and bushings
- Housings, flanges and valve bodies
- Fixture and jig components
Choosing the process
Blocks, plates and housings with holes on several faces suit 4.5-axis milling, where the part can be machined from several angles in one setup. Shafts, sleeves and rollers are turned on CNC lathes. Wire EDM handles profiles and slots in hardened steel.
Drawings and tolerances
Metal parts are machined to a tolerance of 0.02 mm. For assemblies, call out the mating features — bores, dowel holes, locating faces — and give the rest a general tolerance. It keeps cost down without affecting how the machine runs.
Chi Xin Technology is a CNC machine shop in Nantun District, Taichung, Taiwan, founded in 2022. We run 5+ CNC machines — 4.5-axis CNC machining centers and CNC lathes — and mainly machine aluminum alloys and alloy steel, with a metal tolerance of 0.02 mm. We also offer wire EDM and surface finishing including anodizing, and we export to customers in Europe and North America.
Frequently asked questions
Do you machine one-off and replacement parts?
