Electric bikes add parts that conventional bicycles never needed: motor mounts, battery brackets, sensor housings and reinforced axles. Many e-bike brands start with small batches, which makes CNC machining the natural way to make these parts before volumes justify casting or forging.
Taichung sits at the center of Taiwan’s bicycle industry, so materials, finishing and know-how for bike parts are close at hand.
E-bike parts that are often CNC machined
- Motor mounting plates and adapters
- Battery brackets, cradles and lock housings
- Hub shells, axles, spacers and end caps
- Freehub and ratchet components
- Sensor and display mounts
- Small brackets, bushings and threaded fittings
Design considerations for e-bike parts
E-bike parts carry higher loads than their pedal-only equivalents, from motor torque and heavier bikes. Mounting faces, bearing seats and threads deserve clear tolerances on the drawing.
Aluminum alloys keep weight down and take anodizing well; alloy steel is used where strength or wear matters more, such as some axles and ratchet parts.
From prototype to production
We machine single prototypes for testing as well as production runs. Turned parts are made on CNC lathes; brackets, mounts and hub shells on 4.5-axis machining centers, where several faces can be machined in one setup.
Chi Xin Technology is a CNC machine shop in Nantun District, Taichung, Taiwan, founded in 2022. We run 5+ CNC machines — 4.5-axis CNC machining centers and CNC lathes — and mainly machine aluminum alloys and alloy steel, with a metal tolerance of 0.02 mm. We also offer wire EDM and surface finishing including anodizing, and we export to customers in Europe and North America.
Frequently asked questions
Can you machine prototypes of new e-bike parts?
Yes. We machine prototypes as well as production runs, so you can test a design before ordering volume.
Can the parts be anodized?
Yes. We offer surface finishing including anodizing. Tell us the color you need when you request a quote.
How do I send drawings?
