CNC turning is the standard way to make round parts: shafts, pins, bushings, spacers, sleeves, threaded fittings and hub components. The workpiece spins while the cutting tool shapes its diameters, faces, grooves and threads.

Parts that suit CNC turning
If your part is mostly round, turning is usually the fastest and cheapest way to make it.
- Shafts, axles, pins and dowels
- Bushings, sleeves and spacers
- Threaded fittings, nuts, adjusters and end caps
- Bicycle hub axles, spacers and small hub components
- Motorcycle and automotive pins, bolts and adapters

Turned parts with milled features
Many turned parts also need flats, cross holes, slots or holes around a flange. These features can be finished on a 4.5-axis machining center after turning, so one supplier handles the whole part.
Materials and finishes
We mainly machine aluminum alloys and alloy steel. If your part needs another material, tell us in the quote request and we will confirm whether we can make it.
Aluminum turned parts are often anodized for color and corrosion resistance. Anodizing adds a thin layer to the surface, so tight-fitting diameters and threads may need allowance or masking.
Tolerances
We machine metal parts to a tolerance of 0.02 mm. Put a general tolerance in the title block and call out only the dimensions that really need to be tighter — bearing seats, mating diameters, thread classes. Tight tolerances on every feature raise cost without improving the part.

- A 3D model (STEP preferred) and a 2D drawing (PDF) with tolerances and thread callouts
- Material and any heat treatment
- Surface finish or anodizing color
- Quantity per order and expected yearly volume
